This is Health Matters, reporting on a recent decision by the Food and Drug Administration to ban the sale of soaps that contain anti-bacterial chemicals. Throughout this report we’ll refer to the Food and Drug Administration as the FDA. “The FDA said the industry has failed to prove that these soaps are safe to use over the long term. The industry also failed to prove that these products are more effective in preventing infection than ordinary soap and water.”
