KIDE is the first Native owned community radio station in California, and the first solar powered radio station in California. We are still the only solar powered Native owned in the nation. Foundation support purchased our solar power system. Corporate collaborations allowed us to foster broadband wireless internet service for the Hoopa Valley community. Our efforts to bring the voice of Native people to the airwaves is a never ending process.

The more successful we are, the more Native voices are heard. Because we share local programs with other network stations in California and the world online. We train and give experience to local Native people on how to create news and human interest features. Our goal is to bring California Tribal issues to the world.
