Redbud Theatre
Date: Jul 2, 2010
Time: 8:30pm to 10pm

Redbud Theatre is presenting a summer play, The Money Ball, a broad comedy, written by local playwright Brian Bottemiller, directed by Bruce Marrs, veteran of many Redbud plays, mask-maker and Dell' Arte faculty member.

The play will be performed outdoors on our own Willow Creek Golf and Country Club on Patterson Road.  The Money Ball opens Fri July 2nd and continues Sat & Sun July 3rd & 4th;  Fri & Sat July 9th & 10th;  Fri & Sat July 16th & 17th beginning at 8:30pm.   Tickets available at the door.

The play takes place on a fictitious golf course, "Hollow Promises Golf and Country Club" in northern California in 2006.  It's a simple story--Dwayne Fender thinks someone is blackmailing him for falsifying credit applications so he can sell cars to people who can't really afford them.  It might be the car salmesman he just fired, Ted Balch, who he's sure overheard him and the credit manager, Roger Colt, scheming.  Dwayne also fears his wife Phyllis might find out, or worse yet, his sister-in-law, Governor Sweet.  What Dwayne doesn't realize is, he has worse problems.  A huge drug smuggling operation is being run out of his parts department by Big Mack and Mac Last and not being run very well.  This has gotten the attention of their supplier, K. Nine(a very bad person);  right hand man, Dimes;  and the, oh-so-corrupt, Sheriff Highball.  Find out who lives and who dies in nine rounds of golf.

The cast includes:  Rick Stewart,  John Donahue, Roland Grubb, Bruce Nelson, Fred Curns, Camilo Olmos, Brian Bottemiller, Rod Lewis, Bruce Taylor,  Marc Rowley, Londa Rowley, Susan Walsh, Gianna Orozco, Julie Calvosa, Jennifer Junkin, and Linda Lyman.

Tickets are $10 for adults;  $7 for children 12 and under.  Some material may not be appropriate for young children.
